Fairchase Keep lies in the lush, rolling hills of the western Catskill Mountains. The Keep is a “Grand old place,” situated in a beautiful valley populated with abundant wildlife, including deer, rabbits, turkeys, foxes, geese, ducks, and songbirds. A guest once remarked that it was “like living in a game preserve.” Time here seems suspended from the reality of today’s world. The Keep is like the halcyon bird, providing for its residents a calm nest in the middle of a stormy ocean. Much of the surrounding property is state land designated “Forever Wild,” allowing unfettered access to hunting, hiking, and cross country skiing. The Keep is near the end of a secondary road with no through traffic and no near neighbors, affording serenity and peace.
